TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) - A long-time Trumbull County business announced a massive expansion.
The Ellwood Group announced a $60 million expansion at its complex on Hubbard Masury Road in Hubbard Township.
The business got its start nearly 100 years ago in iron. Now, the factory will add aluminum to its portfolio.
"We're going to be producing secondary aluminum here, which means we are taking scrap aluminum, remelting it, and then we are going to refine it, which means we are going to clean it, de-gas it, and then we are going to be producing big aluminum blocks and aluminum billets," said Pat Callihan, company president.
The workforce will expand from about 100 people to 130 employees.
The new plant will be up and running in about a year.
