YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown Works held a hiring event on Wednesday at Stambaugh Auditorium.

More than 50 local companies were on hand looking to fill openings. Job seekers could look for positions in health care, manufacturing, service and IT. They ranged from part-time, full-time and internships.

“The reason Youngstown Worls was formed was to provide residents of the Mahoning Valley with careers with self-sustaining and family-sustaining wages and benefits so you don’t have to work several part-time jobs. There is a range of jobs being offered here from entry-level to middle management to running the place,” said Gerri Jenkins, founder of Youngstown Works.

Jenkins said they hold two of these job fairs each year. The next one will be in April.

Youngstown Works is a consortium of more than 20 local businesses, agencies and nonprofits that assist job seekers.
