The Regional Chamber was thrilled with the applicants it got this week for a marketing and graphics specialist. Our JobsNOW segment is helping them out again to find another key member.
The Regional Chamber is looking for a full-time member retention specialist. The person would be responsible for keeping close contact with Chamber members.
The Chamber is a small team which helps member businesses.
Kim Calvert, vice president of marketing and member services, said service experience is vital for the job as well as being friendly and outgoing.
“Good or bad, customer service leaves an impression. We want somebody who has that positive attitude and that big personality who can talk to our members,” Calvert said.
The Chamber has 2,600 members. The member retention specialist might go to their ribbon cuttings, grand openings or special events. They may make calls or schedule a meeting to make sure they’re happy about their membership and ask if there is anything the Chamber can do to help them out.
“It’s looking into their account and taking note of the things they’ve done since they’ve joined our organization and maybe trying to figure out what they can do so we can further help them with their growth or whatever they may need,” Calvert said.
The retention specialist also needs the ability to perform data entry for the accounting side. A degree in accounting would be helpful but it is not necessary. Calvert said knowledge of Excel, payables, invoices and knowing how to deal with credit cards is also helpful.
