Working at a call center comes with a flexible schedule and is a job that can turn into a career.
Thousands of phone calls are handled every day by Infocision communicators. Linda Perdue is on the end of one of those lines. She works in the Christian room, helping various ministries across the nation.
“I’m Christian oriented, so I love what I do. I’m serving other people. I love ministry. I love to be able to share hope for people and their future. It is very important because we are living in some trying times,” Perdue said.
Perdue walked into Infocision 18 years ago when she needed a job and hasn’t left. She felt it was her destiny.
“I’m Happy. I make a decent pay. I’ve been able to take care of my girls on my job and myself. I’m blessed,” Perdue said.
Rhonda Ware has been a communicator for two years. She says she has a passion for the work, but it’s not a hard job.
“You have some disappointing times because everybody is not nice on the phones, but it’s not hard and you just keep going,” Ware said.
Ware said it takes a month to feel comfortable and realize the rejection is not personal.
Most Infocision calls are based on an established relationship between a person and a client, and the communicator is doing what the client wants. It could be raising money, doing a survey or asking questions.
Training takes four weeks and Infocision has full and part-time positions available.
Mike Baringer spent six months on the phones before moving to a supervisor position. He says good communicators are people willing to give the effort to make it succeed.
“We’ve got the supervisor staff here to help work with you to give you the tools to make you successful,” Baringer said.
