JobsNOW: High pay opportunity at Vienna pallet company

Teamwork is at the center of the work they do at Millwood Incorporated in Vienna

VIENNA, Ohio (WKBN) - Teamwork is at the center of the work they do at Millwood Incorporated in Vienna.

The company gets pallets from a 100-mile radius and repairs them.

A refurbished pallet is a quarter of the cost of a new one. It takes 15 pieces of wood, called runners and deck boards and barely a minute to put it all together.

“To repair pallets, that means you use tools to rip the boards off, put the new boards on using nail guns to re-nail the boards on,” said plant manager Dave Stewart.

Millwood is looking to hire pallet repair workers and general laborers. The latter group could also do work stenciling, painting, even bonding the pallets. They will tear pallets down to get the lumber, which will then be used to rebuild and refurbish pallets.

“Our reclaim and pallet repair is piece work. The more you do, the more you make. We want you to make $50 an hour because it’s not only good for you but the company as well,” Stewart said.

Millwood has competitive benefits plus a program where you can earn $500 for recommending a friend who gets hired.

It's hard work, labor intensive, but it’s a golden opportunity to get in with one of the country's biggest pallet companies. Millwood handles 300 million pallets every year.

“Looking for people with experience in carpentry, roofing, experience with a nail gun, working with lumber and you’ll be trained in that job area,” Stewart said.

Much of work is manual labor, but Millwood also relies on machinery. They need maintenance help to take care of all of the equipment such as servicing forklifts, working with pneumatics, hydraulics, fabrication and welding.

Millwood makes it easy for you to apply on the company website or in-person at 3708 International Blvd., Vienna, Ohio 44473.
