PALMER, Pa. (AP) – Authorities say the death of a woman found in her Pennsylvania home appears to be a homicide, and they are searching for her missing husband as a person of interest in the case.
Palmer police found 66-year-old Penny VanTassel-Himel when they went to her home early Sunday to check on her welfare. The Northampton County district attorney’s office says she apparently had been dead for several days, but further details have not been disclosed.
An autopsy was due to be performed Monday.
Authorities were still looking Monday for VanTassel-Himel’s husband, 80-year-old Edgar Himel. He was last seen driving away from the couple’s home, and authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
