First Night Youngstown
Dec. 31, activities from 4 p.m. to midnight
Celebration for everyone who is ready to ring in the New Year! Come downtown to celebrate diversity through the arts with a variety of bands, crafts and events that bring the Youngstown community together. Family-friendly. Wristbands to get in are $10, children under 12 are free.

Big Band New Year’s Eve

Five-star steak and seafood dinner, dancing to swinging Dave Banks 12-piece orchestra and your favorite songs sung live by Frank Sinatra tribute artist Michael Sonata. Free “mocktails” all night. Midnight buffet, toast and live feed from Times Square.

Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival
Jan. 6, 1:30 p.m. & 4 p.m. (Traditional roast beef feast dinners at 12:30 p.m. & 3 p.m. before the performances)
St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown
The festival is one of the longest-running in the country. It’s a unique offering of praise to Jesus Christ at his Epiphany and features the Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival Choir and Brass. Bagpipers, drummers and a cast of about 100 St. John’s parishioners dressed in Medieval costume.
Admission is $10 for just the performance or $25 for the performance and dinner. Buy tickets online or at the church office Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.
