NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (AP) – It is believed a man was fishing when he was struck and killed by a train in York County.
The coroner tweeted the 20-year-old and another person reportedly were fishing from a bridge when they were startled by an oncoming freight train on Sunday. The coroner says they appeared to try to run ahead of the train, but the man was struck and was found 40 feet down an embankment. He died at the scene.
There is no word what happened to the other person.
The name of the man who was struck will be released after his relatives are notified.
