YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Voters have overwhelmingly selected Richard Vincent Hill as the next Youngstown clerk of courts.
Hill received just over 46% of the votes, defeating Youngstown City Law Director Jeff Limbian and paralegal and former Youngstown School Board member Corrine Sanderson.
Hill has been working in the Youngstown Clerk of Courts Office and said he understands the caseload and the tasks of the job. He said one of his priorities will be to upgrade the office’s computer and e-filing systems.
While the other candidates spoke to WKBN about possibly scaling down employees to control costs, Hill said he did not believe that staff size needed to be cut, arguing that the current staff of 26 has seen an increasing workload and said the personnel is needed.
The Youngstown Clerk of Courts position was open due to the retirement of Clerk Sarah Brown-Clark at the end of the year.
