Name: Ray Sosa
City of Residence: Cheltenham
Party Affiliation: Democratic
Office Desired: Lieutenant Governor
Why should you be elected
I have the right private sector experience with the necessary state appointments to make the position of Lieutenant Governor an asset for the State of Pennsylvania. As a Latino, I know very well the needs of the minorities in the state and the lost opportunities for leadership.
Top three priorities
1) Compulsory education for our prisoners, post prison opportunities and criminal justice reform.
2) Reorganizing our school public system, permanent funding formula for our schools and providing a safe learning environment for our children.
3) Help for our farmers. They need broadband, infrastructure and taxation that is crop specific. We must allow them to be able to compete.
Ray Sosa has over 20 years of experience in the private sector providing support and advice to large and small companies. He wants to use that experience to create a more efficient and effective government in Pennsylvania. Ray currently resides with his wife, Nikki Sosa, in Montgomery County and has lived in both Bucks and Montgomery Counties over the last 8 years. The Sosa Family is blessed to be expecting their first child after the primary election, in July.
For too long, the powers and resources of the Lieutenant Governor’s office have been underutilized, even though Ray is a political outsider, he is uniquely qualified to serve in this position. Ray is the first Hispanic Candidate to run for Lieutenant Governor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in which he has already made history for the Democratic Party. Ray Sosa’s experience in the private and public sectors in Florida and Pennsylvania give him an exclusive set of skills and abilities that will prove to be an asset to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the position as Lieutenant Governor.
Ray was appointed by three different U.S. Governors to lead districts in coordinating Emergency Management and Response. Ray was Chairman of the Governor’s Human Rights Advocacy Committee for 10 years, fighting for hospitals, juvenile justice centers, foster care homes, and nursing homes. For 10 years, Ray provided legislative policy support for three governors and wants to continue to do so in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by supporting both Governor Wolf and Senator Casey during their campaigns. Ray is currently the President for Round Hills Investments and Services and is a career banker and insurance agent.
The Lieutenant Governor serves as Chairman for the Board of Pardons, Member of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Council, the Military Base Community Enhancement Commission Chair, the Local Government Advisory Committee, and President of the Pennsylvania State Senate. Ray’s previous appointments in the public and private sectors have prepared him for the role of Lieutenant Governor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
