WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Sunday was National Trails Open Day, and to mark the occasion, a group of cyclists rode the bike trail from the Buena Vista Restaurant in Warren to the Sunside Trailhead in Champion.

The stretch is part of the larger Lake to River Greenway that’s been under construction for more than a decade.

“It’s a wonderful thing. It’s great for families. Great for exercise and it’s just a beautiful walk in nature or ride in nature,” said Warren Councilman John Brown.

Brown said there is still a portion between Warren and Niles that needs to be connected.

Once it is, cyclists will be able to ride from Lisbon to Lake Erie.
