5 p.m. – 800 block of Pennsylvania Ave., a woman told police she came home to find that someone had ransacked her apartment. Police found that a window was open that was not open when the woman left.
11:04 p.m. – Christopher Thomas, 33, was charged with theft. The charges stem from an April 11 investigation where a family member said Thomas and a female took a gold ring valued at over $1,100 and a watch valued at $800 from a house. Police additionally charged Thomas as he was already incarcerated in the Mahoning County Jail on other charges.
Thursday, April 25
1 p.m. – 50 block of W. Princeton Ave., a man told police that while he was gone, someone tried to break into his apartment. Police noted damage to the front door.
5:25 p.m. – 300 block of Avondale Ave., Hattie Marrow, 28, Isiah Weatherspoon, 29, and Donte Perry, 27, were all charged with having weapons under disability following a search. According to a police report, officers went to the house to make contact with Marrow because police say her probation officer could not get a hold of her to take a urine sample. Police say Marrow told them she would fail a urine test because she had smoked marijuana. Police found a gun in the basement where they say Perry ran after he saw the officers pull up to the house, the report stated. All three denied ownership of the gun, the report stated.
Saturday, April 27
4:36 p.m. – 3400 Mahoning Ave., Myles Washington, 21, was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and obstructing official business. According to a police report, officers were called to the area on reports of a man asking people for money. Officers stopped Washington because he matched the description of the suspect, the report stated. Police say after patting Washington down for weapons, he took off. Officers deployed a Taser twice, hitting Washington on the second strike. Police said during the chase, Washington ran across Mahoning Avenue during a time when there was high traffic volume, putting himself and officers at risk.
11:51 p.m. – Interstate 680 near the Connecticut Ave., Anthony Seidita, 53, was arrested on charges of tampering with evidence following a traffic stop on I-680. While officers were talking with Seidita, they say he kept his head down as if to conceal something. When officers looked in mouth, they saw a bag containing suspected crack cocaine, the report stated. Officers told Seidita to spit it out but instead, they say he bent over and swallowed the suspected drugs.
Monday, April 29
2 a.m. – 1000 block of Parkwood Ave., a man told police that someone broke into his house while he was sleeping and took his Smart TV and prescription medication.
1:27 p.m. – 500 block of Palmer Ave., a woman reported that while she was out of town, she believes a family member went into her house and took four pair of Jordan’s athletic shoes and $90.
3 p.m. – 300 block of Wick Ave., William Jones, 21, was arrested on disorderly conduct charges. According to a police report, Jones was found passed out on the toilet inside the Youngstown Mahoning County Public Library. Police say once Jones woke up, he became combative with officers and was yelling through the library.
6 p.m. – 1300 block of Kenneth Ave., a man told police that someone broke into his house took old copper piping as well as new piping that was just installed for laundry appliances.
