Crime

Wednesday, May 1

3 a.m. – 1700 block of Hamilton St. SW, a man reported his home was vandalized. He said six windows had been broken.

3:55 a.m. – 300 block of Eastland Ave. SE, Ray Rihel, 55, of Niles, charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Police said Rihel was acting suspiciously around cars in the neighborhood. A witness said he also saw Rihel walking down his neighbor’s driveway. Police talked to the neighbor, who told them Rihel did not have permission to be on her property.

8:15 a.m. – 2100 block of Peace Ave. NW, Elisa Elliott, 30, charged with endangering children. Police said a woman found Elliott’s 3- and 1-year-old children alone in a parking lot. They were only wearing diapers and were very dirty, police said. The woman said she saw a car almost hit one of them, so she got them on the sidewalk and called 911. She said Elliott then came out and started swearing at her, taking the children back. She said Elliott told her not to call police. Elliott was found guilty of another child endangering charge earlier this year, according to court records.
