Warren crime activity: Man with heroin broke into home and shook woman awake, police say


Saturday, March 9

5:30 p.m. – 900 block of Swallow St. SW, Jessica Hayes, 30, and Andre Furlow, 42, both arrested and charged with domestic violence. Police responded to a domestic violence incident and said Furlow refused to keep his hands out of his pockets even though officers told him to multiple times. Hayes said she and Furlow were arguing, and he hit her so she hit him back. Officers said Furlow took a white paper from his pocket and threw it off of the front porch. He told them it was not drugs, but just a piece of paper. Police said they found white powder in the folded piece of paper. Additional charges could be filed when drug lab test results come back.

Sunday, March 10

12:56 a.m. – 2400 block of Montgomery Ave. NW, Delquan Ware, 23, arrested and charged with burglary. Police said Ware broke into the house of a woman who has a protection order against him. She said he kicked her door down and found her in the bedroom, where she was sleeping, and shook her awake. They found Ware with a bag of suspected heroin, according to a police report. Additional charges could be filed when drug lab test results come back.

4:10 p.m. – 1700 block of Parkman Rd. NW, A’mya Robinson, 19, arrested and charged with drug abuse; Kalen Simpson, 22, arrested and charged with driving under suspension. Police pulled Simpson over and told him he was not supposed to be driving because his license was suspended. They said Robinson, his passenger, had a folded piece of paper with suspected crack cocaine inside. She also admitted to having marijuana down her pants, police said. Additional charges could be filed after drug lab test results come back.

Monday, March 11

6 p.m. – 500 block of Martin St. SW, theft of the exhaust system from a rental car at Enterprise Car.
