Saturday, February 2

10:08 p.m. - 1600 block of Hamilton St. SW, Marcus Hemmingway, 22, arrested and charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Police said Hemmingway had sex with a 15-year-old girl. 

Tuesday, February 5

3:43 p.m. - Austin Avenue NW and W. Market Street, Corey Yates, 27, arrested and charged with drug abuse. Police said they smelled marijuana coming from Yates' car during a traffic stop. He handed them a plastic bag with marijuana inside, police said. Officers also found a digital scale inside of the car, according to a report.

Wednesday, February 6

11:23 a.m. - 600 block of Commerce Ave. NW, break-in at Deer Run Apartments. The maintenance manager told police someone stole an AC unit and furnace.

10 p.m. - 2200 block of S. Feederle Dr., Azhiek Bennett, 22, shot dead outside of Trumbull Homes. It's Warren's second homicide of 2019. Police have not named any suspects.

Thursday, February 7

8:15 a.m. - 300 block of Iddings Ave. SE, reported garage break-in. The victim said someone stole tools and a four-wheeler.

11:10 a.m. - 1900 block of Larchmont Ave. NE, police responded to reports of a 3-year-old walking on the street, asking where her mother was. When officers got there, they said the child was alright and wearing a hooded sweatshirt that a neighbor had given her. They found the girl's parent and called the Children Services Board to investigate.

11:20 a.m. - 500 block of Kenilworth Ave. SE, a 16-year-old boy, arrested on a warrant and two 17-year-old boys, arrested and charged with burglary. A neighbor told police he saw a boy run out of a nearby house and into a car with other boys inside. The neighbor said no one was home at that house. When police and the person who lives there arrived, they found the house had been broken into and ransacked, according to a report. The homeowner said someone cut into her safe and stole four guns and ammunition. An Xbox, jewelry and cash were also missing, police said. Officers were able to identify the suspects from surveillance footage.

12:23 p.m. - 1000 block of Hartman Ave. NW, a man reported someone shot at his house the night before. Police said they found shell casings, a bullet and several bullet holes.

1:01 p.m. - 200 block of Tod Ave. NW, the victim said a man he didn't know pulled a knife on him and stole his fanny pack with juice, vitamins and crackers inside.

5:53 p.m. - 200 block of Laird Ave. SE, Quinten Chandler, 19, arrested and charged with aggravated menacing and carrying concealed weapons. A woman told police she was backing out of her relative's driveway when a man driving a silver Dodge Charger pulled up and blocked her in, honking the horn. She saw him again at Pit Stop, where he started yelling at her and showed her a gun before speeding off, according to a police report. Officers later learned the man was Chandler, who admitted to having a gun on him for protection, according to a report.
