Liberty crime activity: Care service worker hit disabled man, coworker reported

Police investigated the following incidents in Liberty from June 27 - July 5:

Friday, June 27

5:33 a.m. - 5900 block of Belmont Ave., police said two men hooked up a trailer that was hauling a commercial smoker to their truck and drove away. The smoker was on  ECR Trucking and Repair Service's property. Police are investigating security footage.

Sunday, June 29

12 p.m. - 4900 Belmont Ave., police received a report that a worker at Falcon Trucking made threats saying he was going to get drunk and, "shoot up the place." Falcon was going to handle the matter internally and noted that the worker was reassigned due to changes at General Motors' Lordstown Complex, according to a police report. 

Monday, June 30

10 p.m. - 4000 Belmont Ave., a man reported that his money clip containing $600 was stolen by a woman who he was with at a hotel. He said he contacts the woman through Facebook. 

Sunday, July 1

3:51 a.m. - Belmont Avenue and Montrose Street, Antwan Tarver, 18, arrested and charged with drug abuse, driving under the influence and driving in marked lanes during a traffic stop. Tarver told police he had smoked marijuana and took a Xanax before he was stopped, according to a police report. 

Monday, July 2

12:01 a.m. - 3000 block of Northgate Avenue, report of burglary. The woman told police she wasn't home for two weeks and when she returned she realized someone broke in and took some things. 

6:01 p.m. - 3500 Belmont Ave., report of vandalism at Arby's. The store manager told police that someone had tried to get into the outdoor freezer door and bent the handle.

Tuesday, July 3

6:36 a.m. - 3600 Sampson Rd., report of a car stolen from the driveway. The owners said the car was locked, but a set of spare keys was missing.

6:30 p.m. - 1100 block of Timbercrest Dr., an employee at New Leaf Residential, a primary care service for the developmentally disabled, reported that a co-worker smacked a non-verbal man on the head when he was upset. The worker was put on leave for the facility during the investigation. 

Wednesday, July 4

1:15 a.m. - 4900 block of Belmont Ave., Milton Buckner, IV, 20, of Youngstown was arrested and charged with vandalism, criminal damaging, breaking and entering and possession of drugs. Police said Buckner, who was covered in blood, entered Valley Counseling through a broken window. They said Buckner told police he was running from a man with a gun while on a lunch break from his work. When police checked with management at Buckner's workplace, they reported that they didn't see anyone with a gun and said workers all take their breaks at the same time. 

3:55 a.m. - 1400 block of Townsend Ave., report of assault. A woman told police that her boyfriend threw car keys at her and put a cup of bleach in her vehicle's gas tank. Police said they checked the vehicle and couldn't find proof that bleach had been poured in but noted that the woman had a cut on her forehead. 

Thursday, July 5 

11:52 p.m. - 4200 block of Belmont Ave., police said a man was passing out and falling down inside of the store at Speedway gas station. Officers gave Narcan to him, and he was taken to the hospital.
