Hubbard crime activity: Vehicle crashes through Lions Club, leaves area


Friday, Jan. 18

7:08 p.m. – 800 block of S. Main St., Jorge Rudes, 41, charged with domestic violence. A woman said Rudes hit her with his car, pushing her backward, during a custody dispute. Police said the woman had dirt on her hands, and her pants appeared wet. Rudes was stopped by Ohio State Highway Patrol in Steubenville, and he was arrested.

Monday, Jan. 21

2:53 p.m. – 100 block of N. Main St., police said a vehicle drove through a wall at the Lions Club and then left the area. A man reported hearing a loud band and then finding a large hole in the side of the building. Police said the vehicle involved would have significant damage and is believed to be blueish in color. 

Wednesday, Jan. 23

7:54 p.m. – 300 block of W. Liberty St., Julie Gould, 35, of Brookfield, arrested on a warrant and charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Gould was arrested during an investigation of a counterfeit $100 bill that was found in the cash register at Mi Ranchitos, where Gould worked. Police said Gould eventually admitted to taking the bill from a man that she knows and giving him $90 in change. Police said Gould was found with containers that appeared to have cocaine residue, along with multiple crack pipes and pills for which she did not have a prescription. Police said during their investigation, they found that Gould’s son was taken to the hospital after consuming her pills. Children Services was contacted in regard to that incident. 

Tuesday, Jan. 26

3:51 a.m. – 400 block of S. Main St., Branon Williams, 23, of Youngstown, arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to control, open container, resisting arrest and a seat belt violation. According to a police report, Williams crashed off of the road, shearing off the fire hydrant and getting stuck in the snow. Police said Williams was drooling, slurring his speed and his eyes appeared “droopy.” Police said an open bottle of vanilla brandy was found in the vehicle. Williams refused to take a blood-alcohol content test, according to the report.
