7:34 p.m. – 3400 block of Mapleridge Dr., a Hubbard man reported that he was scammed after he received an email from a company offering him a job to do research. He was told to cash a check and use the check to purchase gift cards, according to a police report.
Saturday, April 13
5:34 p.m. – 100 block of Hubbard Youngstown Rd., a cashier at Sunoco Gas reported that a driver left without paying for more than $52 worth of gasoline. The woman was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado Z71 pickup truck, according to a police report.
Sunday, April 14
1:56 a.m. – Center and Myron streets, Richard Fricker, 59, arrested and charged with driving while under the influence and for traffic violations. Police said Fricker appeared intoxicated and admitted to drinking a couple of beers. Police said multiple prescription medications were also found in the vehicle with a warning that they are not to be taken with alcohol. Fricker had a blood-alcohol content of .132, according to a police report.
Wednesday, April 17
3:20 p.m. – 800 block of W. Liberty St., Employees at Sharon Regional Health System reported that a patient took Band-Aids from the room without permission. The suspect said she needed them for her kids and did not have money to buy them. Officer searched the woman’s purse and also reported finding an empty Suboxone strip packet, although the woman didn’t have a prescription for Suboxone. Sharon Regional didn’t want to press charges but wanted trespass warnings issued, according to a police report.
Saturday, April 20
10:39 p.m. – 600 block of Dorchester Dr., the fire department was called to a home to deal with a reported oil leak. Police received a complaint about the smell of a chemical, and one family reported that their dog was treated for an illness that they believed was due to a chemical spill. A homeowner reported that he had a buried fuel tank removed from his yard by a contractor and that tank was rotted in many spots.
Tuesday, April 23
9:02 p.m. – Myron Street and James Place, Dominic Dumaire, 20, and Austin-Jay Mott, 22, arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapons, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, trafficking in marijuana and receiving stolen property. After a traffic stop and search of a vehicle, police reported finding a marijuana bowl, digital scale, bag of marijuana, jar containing two more bags of marijuana and a firearm reported stolen out of Meadville, Pa. Police said Dumaire admitted to owning the gun but when questioned about it, he was unable to answer, became nervous and projectile vomited on the side of the road.
