Monday, April 23

9:40 a.m. – 1000 block of Beechwood Ave., police were sent to investigate an alarm drop. Officers found forced entry through a front man door of a garage, but no entry appeared to be made into the home.

7:01 p.m. – 400 block of Indiana Ave., James Koehn, II, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Family members of Koehn reported that they were thrown to the ground and punched by Koehn during a fight.

Tuesday, April 24

2:50 p.m. – 600 block of N. Ward Ave., reported theft of a white 2008 Pontiac G6 from a driveway. 

Thursday, April 26

10:41 a.m. – 100 block of W. Liberty St., a woman reported that a man had a firearm on his side when he came into Royal Gardens. She said he and another man had been acting suspiciously, but she was afraid to call police at the time since one of the men had a weapon. 

12:30 p.m. – 400 block of Powers Ave., a woman reported that a caller who said they were from Federal State Bank of New York said she would be receiving $9,000 but she first had to purchase a $200 Google Play gift card before she could receive the money. The woman said she purchased the card and gave the caller the security code but the caller requested another $600 on a different card. She was advised that it was a scam.

Friday, April 27

12:43 p.m. – 200 block of S. State St., an employee of Kinnick Funeral Home reported that a suspect has been throwing dog feces onto the property owned by the funeral home. He said the suspect is upset that he works there. 

2:48 p.m. – 100 block of E. Liberty St., reported theft of a commercial range. 

4:58 p.m. – 400 block of Reed Ct., a man reported that some of his prescription medication was missing. He said it had been mailed from the Veterans Administration. It was unknown whether the medication was actually delivered or if it was stolen. The man was told to follow up with the Post Office.

Saturday, April 28

8:46 a.m. – 700 block of E. Liberty St., reported damage to a door at the Mahoning Country Club. 

4:22 p.m. – 200 block of E. Second St., a 13-year-old boy was arrested and charged with domestic violence. The boy’s mother said he pushed her and threatened to kill everyone in the house with a hatchet.
