Girard crime activity: 2 men involved in Burger King play zone fight, police say

Sunday, March 24

1:36 p.m. – 300 block of S. State St., police responded to a fight between two men at Burger King. According to police, Brian Mazzella, 46, said he got involved in a fight in the restaurant play zone after confronting another man about selling drugs to his girlfriend. Police said Mazella had bloody knuckles and red marks on his neck. The report said the other man told police Mazzella was yelling in the play zone and trying to fight him. The man had scratches on his face and a bruise under his eye. He told police Mazzella started to hit him and he did not fight back. Mazzella was charged with assault.

Monday, March 25

3:40 p.m. – 100 block of Churchill Rd., police responded to a burglary. Police said the caller came home after being out of town and one of her windows was partially open. She also said her television, Dre Beats and Playstation 3 were missing.

9:25 p.m. – 200 block of E. Liberty St., police responded to a man with a knife trying to force his way into a home. According to a report, the caller said a man was beating on his back door with a knife, asking to get inside and talk with him. The caller knew the man and police said when confronted, the man denied being on the property. He said he was mad at the caller for messing with his ex-girlfriend.
