East Liverpool crime activity: Naked man on meth arrested after punching holes in wall, police say

Police investigated the following incidents in East Liverpool from April 9-27:

Tuesday, April 9

12:15 p.m. - 800 block of Cadmus St., reported theft. A man reported seeing unauthorized activity on his checking account, saying he had already notified his bank.

Tuesday, April 16

11:41 a.m. - 300 block of Rural Lane, a man reported someone had stolen his two mountain bikes overnight.

Saturday, April 20

6:29 p.m. - 200 block of Wilbert Ave., Preston English, 26, charged with possession of marijuana. English called police asking for an escort to get items from an apartment on Eutaw Avenue. When police ran his information, they found he had just been charged with domestic violence, so he was arrested. During a body search, police found a cigarette box with marijuana, white powder residue and two small blue pills stuffed inside, according to a police report. More charges may be filed depending on lab results. The officer searching the cigarette box had to be taken to the hospital for being exposed to the white powder, which caused him to have tunnel vision and a numbing sensation, the report says.

Sunday, April 21

1:29 a.m. - 600 block of Avondale St., Shaun Dapollonia, 40, charged with resisting arrest, menacing and disorderly conduct. Dapollonia’s girlfriend called police saying he was on meth and out of control, punching holes in the bathroom wall and hallucinating. When police got there, Dapollonia was naked and threatened to kill them, according to a police report. Officers hit him with a Taser before taking him to the hospital, where he admitted to smoking meth for the past six weeks, the report says.
