9:45 a.m. – 8400 block of Colwyn Ct., police were called to assist with rescuing people from a fire at a six-plex apartment. Police said they received a report that the fire may have been started by a child playing with a lighter.
9:17 p.m. – 4000 block of Risher Rd., a man reported that he was threatened after refusing to pay for work that he said was unfinished in waterproofing his basement.
Sunday, April 28
2:46 a.m. – 100 block of Shields Rd., Deandre Madison, 22, of Youngstown, arrested and charged with burglary and domestic violence. Two people accused Madison of forcing his way into an apartment and dragging a woman out by her hair. Police said a piece of the woman’s hair was found in the area where the incident reportedly happened.
4:59 p.m. – 4000 block of Market St., police were called to Hair Depot for a fight between two women in which one of the women was reportedly “going at” the other one with a pair of scissors, according to a police report. Police said the women had been separated and didn’t have weapons when officers arrived. Both women gave police different stories about what happened, and police were unable to immediately view surveillance video as the store was closed.
9:30 p.m. – 3900 block of Kiowa Rd., a man reported that an acquaintance never returned with his car after he let him borrow it to buy cigarettes. He said the suspect, who he has known for only six weeks, told him that he wouldn’t be gone longer than a half hour.
Monday, April 29
7 a.m. – 900 block of Windham Ct., an Aflac employee reported receiving emails from a man who was inquiring about job openings. She said the emails became sexual in nature, with one of them containing a photo of a man in his underwear who was holding his genitalia. She said in a resume that the man sent to the company, he listed “stalker” in the description.
3:38 p.m. – 6600 block of Market St., Janay Williams, 28, arrested and charged with felonious assault and domestic violence. Williams’ mother told police that Williams cut her finger with a kitchen knife after an argument over gas money. Williams denied anything physical took place and told police that she didn’t know what happened, according to a police report. Police said both women had blood on their clothes as well as bruises and scratch marks.
8:32 p.m. – 8000 block of South Ave., a patient at Greenbriar Quality Care Center reported that his Apple AirPods were taken from his room. He said he used an app on his phone to see that the AirPods were last in a laundry room in the facility, but they weren’t there. The center’s director of nursing was notified about the theft to assist in the police investigation.
11:11 p.m. – 4800 block of Erie St., Marquise Green, 27, of Warren, arrested and charged with obstructing official business, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police said a substance testing positive for heroin and torn pieces of plastic bags were found in a vehicle after a report that people were using or selling drugs in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Green denied that the substance was heroin, saying he bought it from a “head shop” and that he “chews on it.” Police said Green also had two cell phones and $531 in cash.
