Boardman crime activity: Man reports burglar jumps out of bedroom window, runs away

Wednesday, April 3

9:13 a.m. – 4000 block of Market St., reported robbery at Family Dollar. Police said the robber was wearing a tan jacket, which he left in the bathroom of Burger King after the robbery. An employee said the robber punched him in the face while he tried to get money, but he left after other customers came into the store. Employees said the same man tried to steal deodorant from the store the previous night.

9:15 a.m. – 3800 block of Market St., Marniese Kimbrough, 41, of Youngstown, arrested and charged with carrying concealed weapons and having weapons under disability. Officers stopped Kimbrough near Sami’s Quick Stop because he matched the description of a man who robbed Family Dollar, according to a police report. Police later learned that Kimbrough wasn’t the robber, but he did have a gun that he wasn’t permitted to carry, according to the report. 

Thursday, April 4

10:30 a.m. – 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Rd., a woman reported that she returned home after stopping at BP gas station and Giant Eagle to find that she was missing her prescription medication. She said they were in her purse, which she left in the vehicle. The woman said she saw empty pills bottles on her passenger seat when she came back from the store but didn’t think much of it at the time because she believed that her dad “was messing with her,” according to a police report.

4 p.m. – 7300 block of Sierra Madre Tr., Jerod Bouslough, III, 41, arrested and charged with domestic violence. A woman reported that Bouslough hit her several times in the face. Bouslough denied that anything had happened, but he had scratches on his chest and cuts on his knuckles, according to a police report. 

Friday, April 5

9:45 p.m. – 600 block of Boardman-Canfield Rd., an employee at Los Gallos reported being threatened by a customer. She said the suspect believed that she owed him money. 

Saturday, April 6

12:35 a.m. – 7500 block of Oregon Tr., Mackenzie Rood, 31, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Police said Rood and a man were involved in a fight that turned physical when Rood grabbed the man by his jacket and slammed his head into a wall and door. A pregnant woman who was also at the house at the time was taken to the hospital after she reported having hallucinations. She admitted to having a meth problem but said she didn’t do any drugs that day.

10:30 p.m. – 4000 block of Sunset Blvd., a man reported that a burglar jumped out of the bedroom window of his home, running away. He told police that he had been hearing noises from their upstairs bedroom for the past few days, but he said his girlfriend told him that he was crazy when he said he believed that someone was in the house. According to a police report, the bed in the room had been used and it looked like someone had been staying there. Police searched for the man who ran out of the bedroom but were unable to find him.

Sunday, April 7

10:44 a.m. – 4000 block of Market St., reported armed robbery of the Family Dollar store. Police said the robber said “Excuse me” when walking by a customer before he pulled a gun on the cashier and demanded money.

11 a.m. – 7400 block of Tiffany South, a man reported that one of the magazines from his handgun was missing after he stayed at the Best Western Plus. He said the magazines and the unloaded gun were in his suitcase while he was staying at the hotel. The cleaning staff didn’t see the missing magazine, according to a police report. 

12:21 p.m. – 100 block of Redwood Tr., Syed Rizvi, 48, arrested and charged with two counts of domestic violence threats and two counts of aggravated menacing. A woman reported that Rizvi pulled a steak knife out of a kitchen drawer and threatened to kill her because he was upset by the “speed in which she was cleaning the home,” according to a police report. Rizvi admitted to pulling out the knife but denied threatening anyone with it, according to the report. 

8:42 p.m. – 4500 block of Green Glen Dr., Evan Bodine, 52, arrested and charged with four counts of domestic violence. A woman reported that Bodine assaulted her and another family member, threatened to kill them and grabbed a handgun. A family member said she hid his magazines prior to the incident, so the gun was unloaded. Police removed four guns from the house after Bodine was arrested. 

Monday, April 8

12:50 p.m. – 7100 block of Market St., Justin Stamp, 36, arrested and charged with telephone harassment, making false alarms and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Stamp reported that he was robbed by a man with a gun, but when they questioned him, he was unable to provide any details. Police said they reviewed surveillance video in the area that Stamp reported he was robbed, and they found no evidence of a robbery. Police said Stamp was found with a crack pipe, and there was a marijuana pipe in his room. Police said during his arrest, Stamp made bizarre statements, so they took him to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

1:30 p.m. – 100 block of Stadium Dr., a woman reported that she looked out of her living room window to see her neighbor standing outside, staring at her. She said it wasn’t the first time that she noticed him watching her and looking into her windows. 

2:30 p.m. – 7400 block of Market St., an 11-year-old boy was charged with assault following a fight at Center Intermediate School which resulted in a student having a broken clavicle, according to a police report. The assistant principal reported that the fight was while they were playing basketball in the gym.
