Boardman crime activity: Couple says woman claiming to be dog walker tried to open door

Police investigated the following incidents in Boardman from Nov. 29 - Dec. 5:

Thursday, Nov. 29

2:04 p.m. - 7400 block of Market St., Martin Rodriguez, 20, arrested and charged with voyeurism and possession of criminal tools. A witness said she was shopping at the Southern Park Mall when she saw a man use his cell phone to take a photo up a kiosk worker's skirt. Police said when questioned, Rodriguez admitted to taking the photo. They said he gave the officers his phone and they found the picture.

Friday, Nov. 30

7:15 a.m. - 8400 block of Southern Blvd., reported breaking and entering of storage units. Baseball cards were reportedly stolen from one of the units. Police found footprints leading to YMCA's parking lot, behind the bus garage.

Saturday, Dec. 1

10 p.m. - 100 block of Wildwood Dr., a couple said they were in their living room when they heard the doorknob "jiggling" as if someone was trying to open it. They opened the door and found an unknown woman, who appeared surprised and quickly pulled out her cell phone. They said she told them she was with a dog-walking company and was apparently at the wrong home. They said instead of going to another house, she got into a dark-colored sedan and sped away toward Market Street.

Sunday, Dec. 2

2:39 a.m. - 900 block of E. Western Reserve Rd., Brian Buckley, 25, of East Palestine, charged with drug abuse, receiving stolen property, possessing drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Police received a report that a man left the Shell bathroom bleeding from his arm and the caller believed he had just used drugs. Police said they found Buckley, who was driving a stolen vehicle, in the bathroom and he took some time to come out of the bathroom. He said he borrowed the vehicle from a friend. Police said they found needles, a spoon with burn marks and suspected drug residue in a trash can in the bathroom. Buckley admitted to throwing them there, according to a police report. A woman with Buckley, 36-year-old Sara Bowser, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and drug abuse instruments.

Monday, Dec. 3

2 a.m. - 7600 block of South Ave., police responded to the Lanai Lounge for a reported assault. The victim told police another man, who became aggressive, came up to him after the victim was talking to a girl. He said the man punched him several times, knocking out his tooth. Police requested surveillance video from the area and are investigating.

11:43 a.m. - 1000 block of Zander Dr., a woman reported that her neighbor threatened her on December 1.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

5:45 a.m. - 1300 block of Redtail Hawk Dr., a woman said a man watched her through the window of her apartment. She said as she was getting dressed, she heard a man near her door say, "Damn girl, you fine." When she turned around, no one was there.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

12:11 a.m. - 5200 block of Market St., police responded to the Town and Country Motel on a report of a suspicious vehicle from which the occupants may have been "dealing drugs." Police questioned a man and woman in the vehicle who said they were staying at the motel and went to the car to get some pop from the gas station. Police said they found fireworks in a backpack in the car.
