Columbiana County reports coronavirus-related death, additional cases

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) – The Columbiana County Health District reported the death of a 71-year-old man from a long-term care facility, reported to be related to COVID-19.

According to the health district, the man was reported to have underlying health conditions. The health district released no further details.

The Ohio Health Department reported 185 total positive cases reported in Columbiana County since Tuesday morning. That includes 17 from long-term care facilities and 62 in the federal prison in Lisbon, according to the county health department.

There were 16 total deaths, according to the state health department. A release from the county health department indicated that four reports were from long-term care facilities and six from the Elkton prison, according to the county health department.

The health district was also looking into one probable case of COVID-19 and one potential related death, as of Tuesday morning.
