Wilma L. Cyrus,89, a lifelong resident, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Christian House of East Palestine.
Wilma was born November 14, 1929 in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Ray and Georgianna Peters Saviers.
She was a graduate of East Palestine High School class of 1947.
Wilma was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church where she assisted with bereavement luncheons and their rummage sales for a number of years.
She had worked in the clerical department for the former American Paper Products for 30 years prior to retiring in the late 1990’s and was was a member of the former Gamma Omicron Sorority, a women’s community service club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Lindy” Cyrus in 2013, whom she married April 18, 1952; a son, Lee Cyrus and seven siblings.
She is survived by a son, Charles (Kimberly) Cyrus of Mt. Jackson, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Barbara Greaves of East Palestine; a daughter-in-law, Karen Cyrus of East Palestine; nine grandchildren, Brandon Cyrus, Blake Cyrus, Zachary Cyrus, Casey Cyrus, Karlie Cyrus Jackson, Gregory Cyrus, Mitchell Cyrus, Scott Greaves and Matthew Greaves and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as, two sisters, Donna Fox of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin and Marilyn Walker of Stow, Ohio.
Friends will be received Friday, March 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Centenary United Methodist Church with Cindy Figley officiating.
A private interment will follow at Columbiana Cemetery.
