DIAMOND, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Wayne Franklin Martin, age 80 of Diamond, passed away peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Monday, April 22, 2019 due to complications of a stroke.
He was born on May 9, 1938 in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Benjamin Martin and Anna (Mohler) Martin.
Wayne married the love of his life, Albertine (Abbie) Seifert on September 5, 1959 and they have enjoyed 59 years of marriage together. He and his wife have lived in Diamond for the last 25 years, formerly of Rootstown, Ohio.
Wayne worked at many different places. He worked at the Ravenna Arsenal; he was a car salesman selling cars for the Chevy dealership in Garrettsville and the Ford dealership in Newton Falls; Wayne delivered caskets for Aurora Casket Company and lastly he worked as a lot manager for Akron Auto Auction for the last five years retiring in 1999.
He loved riding his motorcycle, camping, boating and watching NASCAR.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Culver.
He is survived by his wife, Abbie Martin of Diamond, Ohio; a daughter, Kim Blake of Ravenna, Ohio; two sons, Kevin (Debra) Martin of Chicago, Illinois and Scott (Tammy) Martin of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; eight grandchildren and 20 grea-grandchildren.
Per Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
The family has requested that all donations please go to the American Heart Association in memory of Wayne Martin.
