WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Vhonda Rae McElroy, 58, of Columbus, Ohio, departed this life Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 1:20 p.m. in Mt. Carmel East Hospital, after a cardiac arrest.
She was born July 30, 1960, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Grady and Emma Colvin McElroy, residing in the area for ten years.
Ms. McElroy was a homemaker and enjoyed walking, shopping and holiday decorating.
She was a member of New Birth Christian Ministries of Columbus and was a 1978 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.
She leaves to mourn three daughters, Ms. Kurtticha K. McElroy and Ms. Yessheca McElroy, both of Columbus and Ms. Ricketa McElroy of Warren; her mother, Ms. Emma McElroy of Warren; eight brothers, Willie Grady “Main” (Bernadette) McElroy, Curtis McElroy, Terry “Smoke” McElroy, Gary McElroy, Dwayne McElroy, Dwight McElroy, Andre McElroy and John Lamont McElroy, all of Warren; three sisters, Ms. Mary “Money” McElroy, Ms. Rose Marie McElroy Liptrot and Ms. June McElroy, all of Warren; eight grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Ms. Ann Austin.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 23 at 12:00 Noon at the Monument of Faith C.O.G.I.C.
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon. on Tuesday, April 23 at the church.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 1732 Southern Boulevard NW, the home of her daughter, Ms. Ricketa McElroy.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
