Vera M. Keeley, 86, of Transfer, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 23, 2018 in her home, surrounded by family.
Vera was born on July 3, 1931 to Edwin and Lavina (Moser) Breauchy in Transfer, Pennsylvania.
She graduated from Fredonia Deleware High School class of 1949. During high school, Vera was Basketball Queen Attendant her junior year and Basketball Queen her senior year.
Vera worked as a school bus driver for Reynolds School District, 28 years until her retirement.
On March 3, 1950 she married her husband, the late Norman J. Keeley, who passed away March 21, 2012.
She was a member of Sharpsville Church of the Nazarene where she was very active as missionary president, church secretary, financial secretary, junior church leader, Sunday school teacher, Bible school leader and taught Bible school.
Vera loved to work in her garden, tending to her flowers, taking care of her yard, canning and sharing her things with others. She enjoyed spending time with her husband at their second home in Smethport, Pennsylvania where they attended Smethport Alliance Church. After retirement, they loved to travel to Florida in the winter months, Anderson tours to Alaska and Hawaii, they visited all U.S. states except five. She also had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Austria and Switzerland where her grandfather was a watchmaker before he came to Berne, Indiana.
Vera is survived by two daughters, Bonnie L. (Richard) McKalip of Hadley, Pennsylvania and Barbara S. (David) Reynolds of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; son, Ralph D. Keeley of Transfer, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren, Carrie (Jerry) Boozer, Kelly (Brad) Varner, Benjamin (Courtney) Irwin and Jeremy Irwin an seven great-grandchildren, Hailey Boozer, Taylor Varner, Anna Irwin, Peyton Varner, Evan Boozer, Easton Irwin and Everett Irwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brothers, Harry and Robert Breauchy.
Friends may call Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with family member, Pastor Lucille Schilling and Pastor Len Powell, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
A television tribute will air Wednesday, April 25 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
