SALEM, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Carol Jane (Waithman) Barth, age 91 of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of Salem, went home to be united with her Lord and reunited with those gone on before, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at her daughter’s home.
She was born January 4, 1932, in Patmos, Ohio, the daughter of the late Melburn and Hazel (Wutrick) Waithman.
Carol was a 1949 graduate of Goshen High School and enjoyed life as a homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of Realife Church in Salem where she served as the church accompanist for over 50 years. Her love for music, singing and keyboard ministries, leading women’s group and neighbor Bible Studies, teaching Sunday School touched many through the years. She made serving in various ways her life’s mission, as evidence by the testimonies of those she impacted with her cheerful, loving, caring, compassionate and giving spirit.
Her husband, David Edward Barth, whom she married on August 10, 1949, preceded her in death on January 27, 2012.
Survivors include her son, Jerry (Jane) Barth of Mansfield, Texas and two daughters, Karen (Dennis) Johnson and Marcella Boston, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Realife Church.
Burial will be a Bunker Hill Cemetery.
