Sarabel “Sally” Smith, West Salem Township, formerly of Reynolds, died at 4:01 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018 in St. Paul’s after an extended illness. She was 95.
Sally was born in Clarksville, Pennsylvania, on August 24, 1922, a daughter of William Frye and Millie (Orr) Frye.
She graduated from Hickory High School, Hermitage and was a clerk at Ideal Bakery, Farrell, for five years.
Sally was a member of the former Greencrest Baptist Church of Reynolds.
She was a doll collector and enjoyed cooking, gardening, bowling, card club and spending time with her family.
Sally is survived by a daughter, Merry Langer and her husband, Gary of Orangeville; a son, Roy Smith of Columbiana, Ohio; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Smith, Sr., whom she married August 31, 1945 and who passed away March 20, 1967; a son, Carl Smith, Jr. and a brother, Wayne Frye.
Calling hours will be held 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2 at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2630 E. State Street, Hermitage.
Funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Thursday Augsut 2 in the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Frank officiating.
A television tribute will air Wednesday, August 1 at the following approximate times: 6:41 a.m. WYTV and 8:41 a.m. MyYTV and 9:58 a.m. on FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
