Roman Edward “Ed” Gerasimek, 83, of Sharpsville, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at St. Paul Homes in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

Ed was born on February 24, 1935, to John and Josephine (Kruszewski) Gerasimek in Cadiz, Ohio.

His family moved to Sharpsville when he was young and he attended the one-room school in Orangeville. He graduated from Sharpsville High School, Class of 1953.

While in school, he worked at LoBlaws and following graduation, he went on to work at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio. He retired in August 1991 after 38 years. Starting as a stock boy, he worked his way to general foreman.

On August 17, 1957, he married his wife, Victoria (Hinkson) Gerasimek, who survives at home.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Ed loved fishing and hunting with his two grandsons. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling in his Winnebago, especially trips to Florida with his family and grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Victoria; daughters, Cheri (Bob) Bibler of Sharpsville and Carol Houck of Clark; grandchildren, Ryan Bibler, Derek Bibler, Kayla Houck and Madison Houck; sister, Mary Ann (John) Dodds of Hermitage and brothers, Leo (Janet) Gerasimek, Paul (Emily) Gerasimek, George (Jane) Gerasimek and Jim (Janice) Gerasimek, all of Sharpsville.

He was preceded in death by father, John Gerasimek; mother, Josephine Gerasimek and brothers, Frank (Bonnie) Gerasimek and Robert Gerasimek.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., in the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Hermitage, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Ken Martin, officiating and Pastor Daniel Houck, co-officiating.

Burial will take place in Mount Washington Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be sent to First Assembly of God Church, 1455 North Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, PA 16148, in memory of Roman.

Arrangements entrusted to the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

A television tribute will air Tuesday, November 27 at the following approximate times: 6:41 a.m. WYTV and 8:41 a.m. MyYTV and 9:58 a.m. on FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
