Richard “Dick” A. Heston, 79, of Salem, died peacefully at home on Friday, March 29, 2019.
He was born on February 5, 1940 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Howard Wayne and Ruth Eleanor (Binsley) Heston.
Dick was a lifetime resident of Salem who traveled the world for his work.
He retired in 2005 as the vice president of sales from the Electric Furnace Company, having served 42 years.
Dick had many interests which included reading, photography and home improvement. He always enjoyed working on his cars, washing, polishing and maintaining them.
Dick was a member of the Salem Hunting Club and a fan of OSU football and the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Ann (Bill Carberg) Heston of North Carolina; his nieces and nephew, Andrea (Will) Leland of Hudson, Ohio, Lisa (Alper) Coskun of Powell, Ohio, Nikki Sanders of Knoxville, Tennessee and Sean (Christina) Sanders of San Diego, California and his great-nieces and nephews, Claire, James, Lale, Nora, Joshua, Parker, Luke and Ryan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Sue Sanders and David Lawrence Heston.
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
A service officiated by family members will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in Dick’s name to the Salem Alumni Association, 330 East State Street, Salem, OH 44460.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
A television tribute will air Wednesday, April 3 at the following approximate times: 6:41 a.m. WYTV and 8:41 a.m. MyYTV and 9:58 a.m. on FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
