Richard A. Politsky, Sr., (Grumpy), 86, of Warren, Ohio, passed this life peacefully with family by his side and went to be with all our dearly departed on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
He was born January 17, 1932, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Tony and Sophia (Barnes) Politsky.
He grew up and raised his family in Warren and attended Warren G. Harding High School.
Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He always stressed the importance of work, barely missed a day of work in 37 years at Copperweld Steel and retired at the age of 55.
He enjoyed all sports and was an avid tennis, softball player and bowler. He loved playing poker with his buddies and going to the horse race track with Chow and the guys.
Above all, he was a family man and dedicated his life to taking care of and making sure there was a warm comfortable home and always plenty of food on the table.
He leaves behind his four children, Richard Politsky, Jr., Pam (Sean Bernard) Politsky, Tom (Stacia) Politsky and David (Marsha) Politsky; granddaughter, Kelly McCracken and great-granddaughter, Ruby Louise Noe McCracken; granddaughter, Danielle (David) Onder and grandson, Jacob Politsky. Also surviving are many extended grandchildren, Madison Bernard, Zach Gutierrez, Chris Hanlon Politsky with Jordan and baby Gracie, Bree (Drew) Melow with Ivan and Dimitri, Kaylee (Nate) Zimmet with Landon, Greyson and Easton, Jake and Ali Governor.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Mary Louise (Lendi) Politsky, whom he always said was the best mother; three lovely sisters, Marion (Glen) Allen, Irene (Dominic) Rossi, Karen (Tony) Ciolli and granddaughter, Alexis Politsky.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where his nephew, Elijah Stambaugh will officiate.
Friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, at the funeral home.
