Ray died in his home with his son Ray, Jr. by his side on Monday, February 11.
He loved his family more then anything and was always there to give advice and bring a smile to everyone’s face even when he wasn’t feeling well himself; he always thought about everyone else first and how they were. He was a wild child with a heart of gold. He loved James Taylor and spending time with his friends at the VFW Post 3307.
He leaves behind a daughter, Nichole Dunmire of Girard; a son, Ray Dunmire, Jr. of Youngstown; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Hart; his ex-wife, Barbara Dunmire; 11 grandchildren, Ray III, Felisha, Anna, Joe, Azzy, Abby, Bre, Daniel, David, Derrick and Nicole; four sisters, Beverly of Austintown, Shirley of Youngstown, Sue of Youngstown and Karen of Girard; Aunt Ada of Warren; nephews, William, David, Jimmy and Chris; nieces, Michelle, Heather, Tina, Angie Andrea and Lisa and adopted children, Neil, Keri, Jermaine, James, Tammy and Dan (bub). He also leaves behind all of his friends from the VFW Post 3307.
He entered Heaven joining his mother, Olive Dunmire and sister, Beverly Davis; his nephew, Shane; Uncle Bill; adopted son, Benny and many other family members and friends.
There are no services due to he didn’t want anyone to mourn his death but to celebrate it so there will be a celebration of life for family and friends at the VFW Hall from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 1351 Albert Street, Youngstown Ohio. If you would like to bring a covered dish please let a family member know.
Everyone loved him so much we were all so very blessed, he will be dearly missed.
He graciously donated his body to MedCure.
A television tribute will air Thursday, February 14 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
