NEW CASTLE, PA (MyValleyTributes) – Olive Ida Ball, 81, formerly of Phillips Street, died Friday, May 3, 2019, at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle.
She was born June 5, 1937, in Burghill, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ray and Goldie (Sweigert) Bartholomew.
She was married to the late, Elmer M. Ball who died June 23, 1976.
Mrs. Ball was a nurses aid at Golden Hill Nursing Home for a number of years and she enjoyed going to garage and yard sales.
She is survived by two sons, Greg R. Ball of New Castle and Christopher K. Ball and his wife, Lori of New Castle; one brother, Ray Bartholomew of Holiday, Florida; one sister, Mildred Livingston of New Castle; one granddaughter, Jamie Redman and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Gabriel Redman.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Carl and Roy Bartholomew and four sisters, Minerva Durkey, Arvilla Heden, Ethel Stevens and Donna Broadwater.
Visitation will be held at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue on Wednesday, May 8 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Patrick Fraser, officiating.
A television tribute will air Monday, May 6 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
