CORTLAND, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) - Ronald L. Hodges, 70, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, surrounded by family.
Ron was born on November 27, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio, to Themer and Evelyn (Hockett) Hodges.
Ron was a graduate of Howland High School.
He was a successful businessman owning K&K Trucking, Hodges Welding & Machine, K&K Machine and Hodges Enterprises, Inc. Ron worked with great determination in everything he did striving to leave a lasting impact on those lives he touched. His personal, hands-on approach helped grow every business he owned and allowed him to form many loyal and lifelong friendships.
Ron will forever be known for his generosity and willingness to help. Most importantly, Ron will be remembered for being a loving and caring father and grandfather. Ron loved his family, it was his greatest pleasure. He was always teaching his children and grandchildren something new and enriching their lives through his actions, activities and his passions.
He, along with his family and friends, enjoyed spending time racing go-karts and micro-sprints, going to turkey shoots, deer hunting at the farm in West Virginia and showing his classic cars.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Karen (Brian) Weis of Westerville and Kimberly Cleer of Cortland; his granddaughters, Kylie Cleer, Julie Cleer, Madison Fife and Haley Weis; his brother, Donald (Linda) Hodges of Warren and his ex-wife and friend, Carol Olson; as well as, many other friends and relatives.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brandon Casper; his brother, Roger Hodges and his sisters, Sharon Hodges and Wanda Kay Houchen.
Ron will be cremated and per his request, there will not be any services.
