HERMITAGE, PA (MyValleyTributes) – Norma (Willaman) Flickinger, 95, of Hermitage, passed away Friday afternoon, April 12, 2019, in her home.
Mrs. Flickinger was born August 28, 1923, in Greenville, to the late John and Lena (Metyler) Willaman.
Her father passed in 1924 and Norma was raised by her mother and stepfather, Paul Hays.
At a young age she moved to Fredonia from the village of Kremis and graduated from the former Fredonia High School in 1941.
Norma began employment in 1957 at the former Sun Drug Company and Eckard Drug Store in Hermitage. She was the store manager for 20 years before retiring in 1987.
Her husband, Chester “Ike” Flickinger, whom she married September 3, 1941, passed away February 8, 1993.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald Flickinger and his wife, Martha, of South Pymatuning Township, Charles Flickinger of Hermitage and Dennis Flickinger and his wife, Kathy, of Shenango Township; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Simons and two brothers, LeRoy and Ken Willaman.
Calling hour will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday, April 16 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State State, Sharon.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 in the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Tjader, officiating.
Interment will be held at America’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
