CORTLAND, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Nancy Carolyn Governor, age 83, gracefully entered into eternal rest on Good Friday, April 19, 2019.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Trumbull County, born in Warren, Ohio on November 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Leonard Bower and the late Lillius Goodhart Bower Morris.
She was a graduate of Howland schools and a resident of Mecca Township.
Nancy was married to the late James Governor with whom she had two children, Deborah Governor Monolakis and James “Buzz” Governor and grandchildren, the late Steven (Kristina) Monolakis and Amanda Monolakis, Breanne (Drew) Melow, Jakob Governor, Kaylee (Nate) Zimmet and Ali Governor. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Mathew Cramer, Steven Monolakis, Jonathan Monolakis and Addison Monolakis Jordan Monolakis, Alaina Monolakis and Aliyah Monolakis, Ivan and Dimitri (Governor) Melow and Landon, Greyson and Easton (Governor) Zimmet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Howard Morris; her brothers, Richard Bower and Thomas Bower; sister, Patricia Bower Somlitz and her oldest grandson, Steven John Monolakis.
Nancy was the lead business manager for the family business for over 47 years and worked around the farm. In her free time, she enjoyed spending her time with friends and family.
She was a member of Cortland Christian Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling, swimming and vacations.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers of Nancy’s from Home Instead.
Per her wishes, there will be no services.
