WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Myrtle Estelle Webb Pritchett Angel, 90, of 1784 Milton Street SE, Warren, Ohio, departed this life Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 1:45 a.m. of natural causes at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1929, in Sawyerville, Alabama, the daughter of Cager W. and Gassennie Margaret Myers Webb, Sr.

She has resided in Warren since coming from Columbus in 1972.

Mrs. Angel was employed at Woodside Receiving Hospital for ten years as a senior activity therapist, retiring in 1982.

She was a 1947 graduate of Greensboro High School and attended Alabama State University.  

She was a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Department, Mass and Sanctuary Choirs, Director of the Community Action Program and was a mission and Sunday School teacher.

She was past President of the Warren City School Board (1988-1991), a member of the Red Cross Board of Directors, active with the Upton House Association, SCOPE, United Way, Fine Arts Council, Community Outreach Initiative, Mobile Meals, Urban League Guild, U.N.C.F., Martin Luther King Dream Team, Ebony Pals and the Community Volunteer Council (founding member).

Myrtle’s 40+ years of community service in Warren has been recognized through several awards, including the A. Phillip Randolph Community Award and induction into the Warren High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.

She also enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, arts and crafts, yoga, picnics, singing around the house, card games and visiting with family and friends.

Myrtle’s most proud accomplishment in life was her connection to family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, family member and friend.

She married Joseph L. Angel December 4, 1971 and he died August 4, 1997.

She leaves to mourn one son, Dr. James Anthony Pritchett of Lansing, Michigan; one daughter, Ms. Fazenza Artese Pritchett of Reynoldsburg; four stepsons, Joseph R. Angel and Michael Angel, both of Columbus, Garry Angel of Dewitt, Michigan and Ronald D. Angel of Columbus; one stepdaughter, Ms. Victoria R. Angel of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Gassennie M. (Oliver) Hodge of Durham, North Carolina, Mrs. Lovie LaVerne (Harold) Brown of San Diego, California and Dr. Joyce P. (Charles) Webb of Mt. Washington, Maryland; 26 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a Goddaughter, Ms. Sylvia Tyson of Birmingham, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. She also leaves to mourn a loving extended family of friends; neighbors, Quwan Baker and Tracey Summers; caregivers, Tammy Henry and Gloria Liptrot and a host of previous caregivers.

She was preceded in death by one stepson, Wesley Angel; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Wright Angel; five brothers, Cager W. Webb, Jr., Rev. Gregland M. Webb, V. Curtis Webb, Ervin L. Webb and Dr. James A. Webb and three sisters, Mrs. Annie M. Love, Mrs. Lenora M. Richardson and Mrs. Rosie Lee George.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church.

Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church on Wednesday, May 22.

Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.

A television tribute will air Monday, May 20 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
