Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, for Michael Razo, 61, who passed away late Monday evening, April 9 at Hospice House.
Michael was born January 13, 1957, in Youngstown, the son of Norman and Virginia (Kreidler) Razo.
He was a 1975 graduate of Springfield High School and attended farrier school in Memphis, Tennessee in 1977.
Michael’s lifelong passion was horses. He worked as a self-employed farrier for over 40 years. Michael also worked at the Mahoning Valley Racetrack and Mountaineer Racetrack for many years.
Michael’s wife, the former Karen Hopes, whom he married September 18, 1982, passed away July 28, 2016.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Christiansen of Boardman and Rebecca Razo of Canfield; sister, Mary (Tim) Mounce of Austintown; brother, Mark Razo of North Lima and two granddaughters, Addison and Mckenna.
Michael was also preceded in death by his parents.
