Margaret Ulan, 87, of Hermitage passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018 after an extended illness, with her family by her side. 

Margaret was born on March 3, 1931 in Wheatland, Pennsylvania to William and Mary (Varcholik) Baker.

She attended Farrell High School.

On June 19, 1948 she married her husband, the late, Joseph Ulan who passed away January 17, 2017. They shared 68 years of marriage together. 

For ten years she worked in the bakery department at Riverside Market in Hermitage.

She loved baking cakes and decorating them for her family. She enjoyed traveling to their camp in the mountains and also liked to read. 

She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Carol) Ulan, Sr. of Farrell; daughter, Christine (Ron) Hudack of Fowler, Ohio; brother, William Baker of West Middlesex and sister, Ginger (David) Sackett of Sharpsville. Margaret is also survived by eight grandchildren, Amy Anderson, Natalie Pekney, Vanessa EK, Candice McCarthy, Ken Ulan, Jr., Carrie Greimann, Justin Ulan and Joey Hudack and eight great-grandchildren. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Daniel Ulan and daughters, Paula Marshall, and Victoria Lynn Ulan. 

Her family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Sharon Regional Hospice for taking wonderful care of their mother and father. 

Memorial contributions may be sent to Sharon Regional Hospice, 1955 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA 16148 in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Ulan. 

Friends may call Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, Pennsylvania. 

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 226 W. State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania with Father Adam Trambley, officiating. Friends are welcome to meet directly at church. 

Burial will take place in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Cemetery Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

A television tribute will air Tuesday, August 28 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
