Margaret “Peggy” S. Hood, age 84, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at her place of residence in Westerville, Ohio.

She was born October 17, 1933 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to the late James and Mary Ralston Lewis.

Her loving husband, William “Bill” E. Hood, whom she married on November 13, 1954, survives Margaret. 

She was a graduate of Austintown Fitch in 1952.

Along with her husband and family, Margaret resided in Canfield, Ohio for nearly 50 years.

She worked as a secretary in the Canfield High School for 20 years before retiring in 1994.

Margaret enjoyed music and singing praises to the Lord all her life.

She was a member of the Old North Church where she was a choir member and soloist for 35 years.

She was also a gifted artist and painter. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband and family.

Her two parents; son, Bradley J. Hood and her sister, Helen Leach, preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons and their wives, Evan and Kathleen Hood of Westerville, Ohio and Kurt and Angie Hood of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Joyce O’Neal (Bradley) Hood of Aledo, Texas; brother-in-law, Jim Leach of Youngstown, Ohio and five grandchildren Nathan, Micah, Ben, Andrew and John.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel and Tuesday, August 28 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Old North Church in Canfield, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Enlow, officiating.

Burial will be in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. Ohio.
