Margaret “Peggy” G. Culver, 80, of Cortland, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, in her home, under the comforting care of hospice.
Peggy was born December 1, 1938, in Bristolville, the daughter of the late Carl Daniel and Cora Emma George Knepper and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1957 graduate of Bristol High School, Peggy spent much of her adult life caring for and raising her family.
She was married on August 6, 1960, to Robert S. Culver, Sr. and they were married for 53 years until his passing on November 15, 2013.
Fond memories of Peggy will be cherished by two daughters, Teena Culver-Lovett with whom she made her home in Cortland and Loretta (fiancé, Bert Johnson III) Peters of Howland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Robert S. Culver, Jr.; brothers, Paul, Milton, William, John, Reuben, Thomas, George and James Knepper; sisters, Martha Zaugg and Mildred Rallsburger and two grandsons, Larry B.J. Hines and Jeremy A. Lovett who passed away this past Friday, February 22.
In keeping with Margaret’s wishes there will be no calling hours and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. A caring cremation will take place.
