Margaret J. “Peg“ (Pastor) Mecak, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 2, at Oasis Center in Youngstown, after a short illness with cancer.

Peg was born January 9, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Michael J. and Frances Stella Krawiecki Pastor.

She went to Williamson Avenue Elementary School and Hillman Jr. High and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1965.

Peg started working for AAA as a clerk and then worked for Marve Minneman Chevrolet, retiring after 30 years working.

Over the years she was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, St. Dominic and most recently St. Matthias Church.

Peg enjoyed making crafts of all kinds; especially knitting and ceramics. Dining out at restaurants was always one of her favorite things.

She married the love of her life, Lewis Mecak, on September 30, 1991. Sadly he passed away March 25, 2016; life was never the same without him.

Peg leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Michelle (Jim) Urhausen of San Jose, California; niece, Jessica Urhausen and nephew, Michael Urhausen both of San Jose, California. She also leaves her cousins, Linda Anderson and Jackie Caicco of New Middletown.

Margaret’s wishes were to have private services and no calling hours.
