AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Ruth E. Murphy, 92, of Austintown, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at St. Mary’s Alzheimer Facility.
Ruth was born on May 12, 1926 in Sykesville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late William J. and Ethel (Fillhart) Carney.
Prior to her retirement in 1982, Ruth worked in the office at GC Murphy.
In her younger days, Ruth was Girl Scout leader.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, croqueting and traveling.
She leaves behind her four daughters, Yvonne Murphy of Georgia, Diana Lawrence of Newark, Ohio, Judy (Anthony) Zarconi of Youngstown and Janet Wolfe of Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Heather, Shawn, Kristina (Brian), Sheila, Brentt, Jennifer, Laura and John David and six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Derek, Taylor, Stone, Sara, and Abby.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Murphy, whom she married July 6, 1946 and died February 7, 2017; two sons-in law, John and Tom; a brother, Olin Carney and her sisters, Eva Humphreys and Margaret Zima.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 3, 2017 at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
