CORTLAND, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – John K. Vadas, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.
John was born on January 19, 1950, in Warren to John C. and Margaret B. (Paulley) Vadas.
He was a 1968 graduate of JFK High School.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1972 where he was the radar operator on the USS Wasp.
Upon his honorable discharge, John took a position working for Packard Electric. He retired from Delphi in 2001.
On April 11, 1970, John was united in marriage to the former Sandra Allen who survives.
John found peace in the woods and frequently carved out time to go hunting and camping. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and NASCAR; cheering on driver, Kevin Harvick.
He also belonged to the USS Wasp Association to stay in touch with the men he served alongside. Most importantly, John was a patriotic man who loved his family and was a devoted husband and father.
Visitation for John will be held on Monday, May 13 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, May 14 from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, Warren where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery.
Besides his wife of 49 years, John is survived by his sons, (Jon) Kristopher, Jason and Matthew Vadas, and his brother, Michael (Judy) Vadas as well as many other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Vadas; his parents and his brother, William Poppal.
