MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Funeral services celebrating the life of Jessie Jean Kiger, 80, will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel.
Jean passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at her home.
She was born July 12, 1938, in Wind Ridge, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jacob O. and Grace (Tilton) Tennant.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jean was a member of Mineral Ridge Church of Christ and was very active in the church. She was involved with the Socks for Grundy Mission, the bereavement dinners and the Women Working for Christ. Jean enjoyed her monthly ladies luncheons with her church friends.
Her hobbies included being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, crocheting and puzzles.
Her husband Charles D. Kiger, whom she married September 15, 1957, passed away July 27, 1991.
Jean leaves four children, Linda (William) O’Brien of Austintown, Kathy Kiger and Daniel (Evelyn) Kiger, both of Mineral Ridge and David (Wendy) Kiger of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Melanie (Korey) Paff, Patrick O’Brien, Abriele (Andrew) Zizzo, Zachary (Michele) Kiger, Elizabeth Kiger and Nathaniel Kiger; as well as, four sisters-in-law; two cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, Jean was preceded in death by an infant brother; four brothers-in-law and three nephews.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2019 and again from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel, where services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
