WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Arthur L. Vaughn was born on January 30, 1948 in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Arthur E. and Dolores (Gatet) Vaughn.
On Monday, May 6, 2019, he passed away at his home with his family by his side. He was 71 years old.
Arthur was a good student and a member of the National Honor Society. He graduated with honors from Howland High School in 1966. He furthered his education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He was a permanent fixture on the Dean’s List, graduating with high honors in 1970.
He began his career at Babcock-Wilcox but later took a position at Ajax Magnethermic where he put his talents to work developing control boards for industrial power equipment. He retired from Ajax in 2002.
Arthur was a good man with a fabulous sense of humor. He hiked the Appalachian Trail. He loved the sky and was an accomplished pilot. He also enjoyed skiing, kayaking, fishing, gardening and woodworking.
Honoring Art’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be any formal services.
Art is survived by his brother, John (Laura) Vaughn; his sister, Jane (Ted) Burke; his nephew, Ted Burke; his niece, Jill Burke and many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Sarah Vaughn.
