WARREN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – LaMont D. Murray, 47, of 332 Perkinswood Boulevard NE, Warren, departed this life Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 7:10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, following complications from an extended illness.
He was born July 7, 1971 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Gehrig A. “Bell” and Lucille Thompson Murray, residing in the area since 1997, coming from Columbus.
Mr. Murray was a member of East Side Church of Christ and enjoyed football, music and traveling.
He was a 1989 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, where he was an All American Offensive and Defensive Tackle on the football team. He attended Central State University and Norfolk State University, majoring in communications.
He leaves to mourn two sons, Juwan Bradley of Cortland and Elias Dean Provitt of Columbus; one daughter, Ms. Mia Harvey of Las Vegas, Nevada; his mother, Mrs. Lucille Murray of Warren; two brothers, Dr. Alexander Renard Apollo (Neka) Murray of Reynoldsburg and Immaru Webster of Warren; one sister, Mrs. Tawonna M. (Eric) Murray Butler of Warren; two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Apostolic Faith Church.
Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
A television tribute will air Friday, April 19 at the following approximate times: 12:25 p.m. WKBN, 6:58 p.m. on MyYTV and 10:37 p.m. FOX plus two additional spots throughout the day.
